We are adding to our Board of Directors and Leadership Volunteers to serve the growing needs in the South Dallas area. We are a "working board" and need hands-on Directors to work with other Animal Welfare Organization Leaders, Community Outreach Volunteers, families with pets that are in need.
Attending vaccination and spay/neuter clinics, fundraising events and other community events to get acquainted with the on-going needs of families in underserved neighborhoods. Provide education on spay/neuter, tethering laws, animal care and protection and other animal related issues. Must not be afraid of animals, especially pit bulls and have a good understanding of aggressive dog behavior.
Will require recruiting/leading volunteers, communicating within the community to be a "face behind the name", forming alliances and partnerships, seeking fundraising opportunities.
Will require attendance of monthly Board Meetings and abide by the mission statement.
These positions will have much creative freedom to serve the South Dallas, Southeast, Southwest, Oak Cliff and surrounding areas. These positions WILL be decision-making positions. Must have a total committment of 5-10 hours per month and be available where needed. Organizational skills will help keep focused on productivity, however, there are occassional emergency (pet related) issues.

We are committed to reducing the number of pets that are surrenderred to our local animal shelters by providing pet foods and supplies to those in financial need.
Description
We provide pet foods to families in financial need. We also provide pet foods to our local area food pantries which helps us reach more of those families in need.
