Do you want to help us find new foster families so we can save even more lives? Houston Pets Alive! (HPA!) needs volunteers who can process new foster applications and interview applicants by phone to make sure they have the information they need to start fostering for us! A perfect New Foster Coordinator will have great customer service skills over the phone and be willing to learn about our foster program to be able to answer a variety of questions.
Time Commitment: (Lead) ~2-3 hours/day 5-6 days/week; (Coordinator) ~2-3 hours/day however many days available.
Houston Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 animal rescue. We use proven success tactics from other no kill cities, like Austin, to fill in gaps where resources are needed the most. Our focus is on high volume, high quality adoptions, high volume, high quality spay and neuter, political advocacy and community education.We currently help the pets who are at risk of being put to sleep in a shelter. We focus on animals who have been passed over by other rescue groups and shelters’ adoption programs and have no other option. Therefore, we are complimentary to other rescue efforts.

Description
We are not an ordinary rescue, the animals in our program have been passed over by other rescue groups and shelter adoption programs. Every day we receive a list of animals who are at risk of euthanasia and acting as a safety net for our municipal shelters, we save the animals who have no other options.
We know that rescuing animals is a community effort and with the help from our volunteers we save as many animals as we can.
We are committed to developing programs alongside our local shelters, working with volunteers from our communities, and we are dedicated to saving the lives that others won’t, and together, we will continue to work to save even more lives.

- VOLUNTEER - From animal care to general office assistance, all departments at HPA! need your help
- FOSTER - Help us save lives by fostering animals until they find their forever families
- ADOPT - Provide an adorable animal with the loving home they deserve
