We are seeking individuals who loves dance and dance students and are willing to help with make our performers look beautiful in an artistic , family-friendly atmosphere!
West Hawaii Dance Theatre performs several times per year at Assisted Living Faciilities , shopping centers and at the Kahilu Theatre. Many of our costumes and accessories are used many times over and over again for different groups of dancers . Costumes need to be fit to dancers, spot cleaned, labeled and organized for each performance. Volunteer should be willing to do some Light sewing , such as replacing elastics, on sleeves ,hooks and eyes on back of costumes, and repairs would be great! Ideally, our new wardrobe personel would be able to go to the performances with us to be sure all of our dancers feel comfortabe. Some compensation provided.

West Hawaii Dance Theatre, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, was founded in 1989 by professional dancers with a vision to bring dance of high artistic quality to the Hawaii community. WHDT’s mission is to educate the community in dance and develop, foster and promote dance of high artistic quality by providing classes in avariety of dance disciplines, offering opportunities to learn from professional dancers and performing in a theater setting.
Description
WHDT offers continuing education and performance opportunities in multiple dance disciplines to students ranging in age from three years to adult. Its program features year-round dance academy classes, guest teacher residencies, intensive summer and winter workshops and dance camps, outreach school programs, and public performances at local area venues,including senior centers.
