ARHA operates Resource Learning Centers that serve low to moderate income families in Alexandria by providing a host of programs and initiatives tailored to the needs of residents in order to help them on a path of self-sufficiency.
Our Community Gardening program has been an award winning program serving both our youth and adult population for 7 years. With the assistance of the northern Virginia Master Gardeners, we have been able to teach our families the value and beauty of growing their own vegetables.
We are in need of volunteers to help till the soil and prepare the garden plots used by the adult gardeners in the community. Volunteers would help turnover the soil, and pull up grass and other debris that will hinder our gardening efforts.
**** Principal day for gardening is on Thursdays from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
