Peacebuilding Solutions (PS) is looking to enhance and expand its fundraising abilities to bring our services to a larger set of displaced people. • Assist in recruiting, identifying, and training temporary coordinators and volunteers.
  • Engage in continued learning opportunities provided through outside resources (non-profit blogs, TED talks, and fundraising experts).
  • Perform other duties or special projects as needed.

Competencies:

  • Drive: Motivated to meet and exceed fundraising goals and quotas. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with sponsors to meet business objectives. Demonstrate the ability to close the sale.

Mission Statement

Peacebuilding Solutions' mission is to reshape and improve current practices in the fields of peacebuilding, humanitarian aid and reconstruction of communities affected by conflict and natural disasters.

Description

Currently, PS has implemented a pilot project in Gressier, Haiti to address the needs of an IDP community displaced by the 2010 earthquake who had not received humanitarian aid since 2011. An initial research trip coordinated and conducted by the PS Research Department gathered information through key informant interviews, environmental scans, and group interviews so that PS could tailor the intervention based on the identified needs and desires of the community members. The results showed that the immediate needs included community access to water, sanitation, and shelter repair with economic opportunities and education as a more-long term goal for the community. PS created and implemented an initiative based on the data collected which included bringing water collection/filtration systems, providing agricultural tools for economic opportunities, and providing school supplies and shoes for the children of the community. Every part of aid given was decided on by the community members in collaboration with our organization.
