Enjoy Superheroes? Love Runs? Love Volunteering? Love free T-shirts? Then this is your event! On April 29th, CASA will be hosting its annual CASA Superhero 5K/1K event in Uptown Columbus. We need volunteers to direct people along the route, set up/clean up, pass out water, and help keep the event lively and fun!
This is a family friendly event! We will have volunteer shirts for you to wear that you pick up at the event. If you have a professional level costume that you would like to wear, we encourage you to wear it! We would love for those that can dress up to be prepared to take pictures with the children and be interactive with them. Otherwise, just come as you are and you'll wear the volunteer t-shirts.
Deadline to join this SUPER VOLUNTEER group is April 1, 2017! So move like the FLASH before spots are gone!

Mission Statement
The mission of CASA is to provide carefully screened, trained and supervised volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children in deprivation cases yielding a safe and permanent home that is developed and maintained.
Description
Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. That's where CASA steps in. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is that a child is placed into a safe, loving home where he/she can thrive. It is the CASA vision to provide a volunteer for each and every abused and neglected child who needs one.
