About

As a charter Partner of the Berklee City Music Network, the Music Department at A Place Called Home offers music instruction from beginning through professional levels, as well as a world of opportunities that include attendance at intensive music camps, and college scholarships. Programs include instruction in guitar, bass, brass, woodwinds, piano, strings, percussion, voice, recording and production, songwriting and music theory, and our advanced performance ensemble. Our music students are eligible to audition for special scholarship opportunities to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music, as well as other college and professional training music programs.

Our exciting Accelerated Music Program (AMP) is designed for intermediate and advanced students who are committed to pursuing a higher education degree I n music, or a professional musical career. AMP students participate throughout the week in regular classes and attend advanced classes on Saturdays. Our digital recording program bridges technology and music, taking students on a journey from idea all the way to finished product. Students learn in a state-of-the art environment where they can create original music and participate in original CD recording projects and radio broadcasts using our digital media laboratory. The young performers in the APCH Music Department have gained a stellar reputation throughout Los Angeles for their professional level performances, and over the past decade our Music Department bands have played in well-known venues and opened for the Black Eyed Peas, Diana Ross, Ozomatli and other established artists.
