Internship Program Overview:
As a Merchandising Specialist Intern you will be assisting the Retail Department specifically in the coordination of product placement that drive sales and add to the overall customer experience.
This Merchandising Specialist Intern position is an unpaid volunteer position with a nonprofit organization. We are happy to work with students so that they may receive academic credit or outside funding for their work.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensure that all merchandise is represented/displayed on sales floor in compliance with merchandising standards
Collaborate with Retail Manager on plans and executes bi weekly floor moves
Interacts with customers and co-workers professionally while projecting a positive attitude and a sense of urgency
Acknowledges and assists customers to maximize experiences
Educates store team on areas that have been remerchandised (specific to sales floor, replenishment, in stock, and price change processes)
Requirements:
Ability to examine issues both strategically and tactically
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational, time management
Ability to carry out detailed tasks and projects with minimal direction or supervision. Self-Starter is a plus!
Length of Project:
8-12 weeks (based on availability) or in accordance with for-credit internship requirements
