Internship Program Overview:
Under general supervision of the Executive Director, as the External Relations Intern you will be working on a variety of projects as a key part of the overall effort to enhance the organization’s resources, reputation, and relationships within the animal welfare community and pet business industry.
This External Relationships Intern position is an unpaid volunteer position with a nonprofit organization. We are happy to work with students so that they may receive academic credit or outside funding for their work.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Identify potential corporate partnerships and affiliates
Follow up on contacts and support cultivation of relationships with corporate partners and affiliates
Research conferences and identify potential speaking opportunities that are relevant to Michelson Found Animals or the senior staff’s experience
Conduct research and develop a list of awards for which Michelson Found Animals could be a candidate to receive and identify opportunities for the organization to be recognized for its work, accomplishments, initiatives, etc.
Research and identify potential university programs for potential partnership on analyzing industry trends
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
MBA or are currently pursuing their MBA
Excellent research and written communication skills
Self-starter, well-organized, and able to work independently
Ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities
Interest in non-profit administration
Length of Project:
10-12 weeks (based on availability) or in accordance with for-credit internship requirements
