Internship Program Overview:

As an Animal Care Intern you will be assisting the BLANK Department specifically in the coordination of intaking animals and vet appointments.

This Animal Care Intern position is an unpaid volunteer position with a nonprofit organization. We are happy to work with students so that they may receive academic credit or outside funding for their work.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Developing a training guide for volunteers who are interested in assisting with inputting new animal profiles into our shelter software system.

• Assist sourcing associate with animal intake needs.

• Assist animal care staff with vet checkups and appointments.

Requirements:

• Interest in non-profit animal welfare strongly preferred.

• Ability and interest to learn computer shelter software.

• Interest in assisting shelter veterinarian with checkup, tests, etc.

Length of Project:

• 8-12 weeks (based on availability) or in accordance with for-credit internship requirements
