Provide Worship Music at Disability Friendly Event

Locations:
Northford, CT

Duration: Looking for volunteers who are available to serve for at least three free disability- friendly events per year.

The events are five hours long, depending on your role you may have some outside prep to prepare for the event (ex. food prep, coming up with a game to play, advertising)

Depending on your role and location where you are serving, your tasks may include:
* Singing/performing worship music during event

Impact: By serving with this volunteer opportunity, you will be providing physical support to help increase the impact of the ministry's care and counseling services as they implement strategies to holistically help people in our community.

In order to volunteer you should be:
* A registered Urban Alliance volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you haven't already)
* Willing to attend an orientation prior to volunteering
* Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule
* 16 years or older
* Enjoy interacting with others
* Reliable
* Able to sing/perform worship music (guitar, piano, or other instrument)
* Open-minded to serving those with physical and/or intellectual disabilities (blind, hearing or speech impaired, use a wheelchair for mobility, unable to maintain conversation, interacts through activities versus verbal communication
* Willing to learn meaningful ways to connect with an individual that may be different than "the norm."

A background check will be required to be placed with this volunteer opportunity.
