MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.

Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control has adopted the Dogs Playing for Life program developed by professional trainer Aimee Sadler. Dogs Playing for Life uses playgroups to help socialize, evaluate, and change the lives of shelter dogs. We are building a play group volunteer base and need team members who are physically fit, vigilant, positive, empathetic and good communicators. Our dogs have proven time and again that through playgroups they are capable of being social with other dogs and becoming more adoptable.

Play groups take place every day (7 days a week) from 9 am to noon. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one 3 hour shift once a week for a minimum of 4 months. Volunteers must be comfortable with large, strong, energetic dogs.

Volunteers are required to take and pass the "Playgroup Training," which is a 3 hour hands-on training that teaches our procedures and strategies on working with shelter dogs.
