American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a large-scale fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. Volunteers are the heart and soul of the event and are absolutely necessary to make the event happen! The In-Kind Donations Lead works in partnership with the ACS staff partner to ensure that enough volunteers are recruited to help before, during, and after the MSABC event. Handles all in-kind donations requisitions in all areas for Kick Off Silent Auction, Day of Event, Fundraisers, and for other uses.
We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate volunteers to join our event planning committee as an In-Kind Coordinator to help assist throughout the 10th Anniversary event season!
Responsibilities
- Work with staff partner and other volunteer leads to develop list of in-kind needs for event - before, during and after. Some needs are listed below.
- Research potential companies to approch for in-kind needs.
- Contact previous in-kind donors to renew commitment for this year’s event.
- Follow up with all vendors for in-kind donations
- Orgainize pick-up of in-kind items
- Assist with sending out appropriate thank you letters to donors after event.
In 2016, the Silicon Valley event brought 12,000 walkers together and raised more than $557,000! Our event unites breast cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers, corporate and community partners together to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer programs and research.
We are hosting an information meeting to learn more about Making Strides of Silicon Valley and the American Cancer Society on March 22nd.
