SAY San Diego

Purpose:

SAY San Diego is a local non-profit that has been serving the needs of at-risk youth and families for over 40 years. We are seeking a Volunteer Interior Designer and/or Decorator for the beautification of our office lobby. As Volunteer Interior Designer/Decorator you would create an attractive environment that allows clients and community members to feel welcome and at ease.

Start Date-End Date:

As early as mid-March 2017 to the end of the Summer

Key Responsibilities:

~Work with SAY San Diego Staff to design, renovate and maximize the lobby space enhancing the function, safety, and aesthetics of interior space

~Advise the staff on interior design factors, such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes, and color coordination

~Develop a design plan, usually using computer-aided-design (CAD), in the form of paste ups, drawings, or illustrations, estimates material requirements and costs

~Present design to staff for approval revising the design plan according to the staff's input upon finalization of the design plan

Qualifications:

~Will be asked to provide a proposal and/or portfolio

~Must be at least 18 years old

~Must be cleared through TB test, drug test, background check

~Will be asked to provide references

~Must have reliable transportation

Time Commitment:

1-2 hours per week between 9:00am-5:00pm

Training and Support:

Will receive support, supervision, and guidance from Program Manager
