Congregations for the Homeless is the only full service organization on the Eastside that serves single adult men experiencing homeless.

We are looking for a food gleaner volunteer who is willing to create relationships with grocery stores and food banks in the area to pick up left over food and bring it to our Day Center/Winter Shelter. Often grocery stores have to pull food before they are able to sell it and going to collect this food is called gleaning. This volunteer could also represent CFH in different Eastside groups that work on hunger issues.

Description

Congregations for the Homeless offers men:

  • a shelter program (including a day shelter, an emergency winter shelter, and a year-round shelter)
  • case management & life coaching
  • employment support
  • a housing program

All of these programs work to give these men a real chance to successfully make the transition from homelessness to permanent housing and a stable, productive life.
