The NC Farmworkers Project seeks motivated, Spanish-speaking volunteers to help with the coordination of a health insurance enrollment event for farmworkers. The event usually draws 40-60 farmworkers who are interested in applying for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. In addition to offering application assistance, we invite health educators, tax preparers, medical providers, and other community members to the events to offer free information and services to farmworkers.

Volunteers will be responsible for event set-up/clean-up and working at a station during the event. Stations include sign-in/sign-out, setting up email accounts, taking copies, addressing letters, and scanning documents.

Volunteers must speak advanced to fluent Spanish. Volunteers are required to complete a brief, in-person training and a one-hour online HIPPA training and certification course before the event.
