Board of Directors (Fund Development)
ORGANIZATION: Many Lights Foundation
Please visit the new page to apply.
We are building Washington’s first intentional community for foster and kinship children and their forever families. By supporting adoptive families, and including seniors as honorary grandparents, we are creating permanence and stability for traumatized children and stopping the cycle of abuse and neglect.
You are driven to help children become their best selves. You see that supporting their adoptive families and connecting them to seniors is an innovative, yet age-old, way grounded in basic human connection. You also have knowledge and expertise in fund development, want to contribute to our fundraising efforts, and you want to help build Hope Lights multigenerational neighborhood.
We have open seats for board members who will make Many Lights a philanthropic priority and participate in development and fundraising activities that include personal contributions and outreach.
In addition to governance and strategic planning, our board has the fiduciary responsibility to ensure funds. Key functions related to fundraising include:
- Speak and advocate for Many Lights and our mission
- Connect Many Lights to your personal and professional connections
- Participate in fund development activities throughout the year
Familiarity with the following is valuable but not required: foster care adoption, human development, education, aging, and/or mental health and trauma.

We are on a mission to heal the pain of abuse and neglect in children.
Description
Many Lights Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth who have experienced trauma and family separation.
We are a driving force for the creation of an intergenerational community that supports kinship families and those adopting children from the public foster care system. This is a community where everyone is valued, everyone contributes, and everyone flourishes. Our intergenerational approach strengthens families and affords children and youth opportunities to improve their health, well-being, and educational outcomes setting up their successful transition to adulthood.
