Mission Statement
The City of Chico's Park Volunteer Program's mission is to promote a healthy ecosystem, including trail system, through volunteer activities in Chico's parks greenways and open spaces; to enhance the community's understanding of and appreciation of the Chico's unique natural resources; and to foster broad-based participation in environmental stewardship throughout Chico's diverse communities and age groups.
Description
Volunteers provide important services to Chico's parks and greenways by working on habitat restoration, vegetation management, trail maintenance, repair and construction projects. There are long term projects, such as the adoption of picnic sites and trails.
