  • Analyze client assistance requests, complete required verifications, assess budget, and review previous casework history

  • Evaluate whether needs presented can be met within NMCRS relief policies

  • Present requests for exceptions to Headquarters Caseworkers, with concurrence of the Director or designee.

  • Ability to maintain a nonjudgmental demeanor, objectivity, and client confidentiality

  • Ability to learn and assess alternatives and exercise active listening skills

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and prioritize time-sensitive situations

  • Ability to assist in developing the client’s spending plan

  • Ability to present a professional, friendly, and objective appearance
