Helping them will change your life!

Small, all-volunteer horse rescue organization on 67 acres seeking a flexible, adaptable horse person or couple to live on the farm, help take care of our herd of ~30 horses (all sizes, shapes, levels of rehab and majority living on pasture), and help out with an ever-changing variety of projects and tasks related to rehabilitating rescued horses, keeping sanctuary horses healthy and engaged with life, and sharing our work with the community.

Outside of core responsibilities which vary in hours per day, there are a variety of projects with which you can become involved depending on your skills and motivations. Please don't be daunted by the extensive description- just send us a cover letter and resume and let us know why you want to come live on the farm!

We expect you to be competent at working independently and developing your own schedule- the right person will be able to handle freedom to plan their day around daily care, working with the critters, any assigned responsibilities, and any other work you might be pursuing outside of the farm.

You must be able to work safely around horses, able to use good judgment and spatial awareness. Previous horse experience is therefore a must, however demonstration of comfort level/skill and references to skill are more important than having "years and years" of experience.

Your daily schedule is likely to be variable, and we hope you have lots of motivation and desire to spend lots of time getting to know the horses and developing relationships with them! If you are skilled with training methods, we would especially welcome a self-starter who can take stock of the horses and develop your own "projects" among the horses, to help them develop skills and find their new family.

Contact us if this sounds like your cup of tea - we're very flexible in developing a situation for mutual benefit to the rescued animal who call this farm home. Send us a resume and cover letter, and please, let us know why you would be perfect for our situation!

We can offer the right person (or couple) use of a spacious RV with a full kitchen and a private bedroom (contact for pictures/details), and can accommodate adding board for a horse or two into the exchange. Small animals may be discussed; there are a number of resident dogs/cats so all must be able to get along harmoniously. You are welcome to develop a lesson program and clientele with appropriate horses/ponies; we have people of various ages interested in taking lessons here.
