Volunteers will play with children, grades K-5 on the playground during lunch recess. they will actively participate with the children modeling safe, healthy, and happy play!
Key Responsibilities: Encourage fun, safe, and postivie play during recess, grades 1 through 5. Interact with the kids playing games during recess time. Model positive play and positve language for children to use with one another!
Skills and Qualifications: Volunteers should feel comfortable around and enjoy interactive play with children; supportive and able to model and reinforce Playworks principles of postivie play and language; patient and focused on children during recess time; flexible, self-motivated, responsible, organized, adaptable, excellent communication and leadership skills.

Description
Playworks is the only organization in the country to send well-trained, energetic full-time program coordinators, called coaches, into low-income schools to become part of the community through play. Playworks significantly reduces bullying and exclusionary behavior at our partner schools, allowing educators to reclaim valuable teaching time. Our programming provides as much as 30-45 minutes of daily physical activity to children throughout the school day by engaging all children in recess and extracurricular activities that focus on healthy and inclusive play.
