Volunteers Needed for Ward 7 Chess Club and a cleaner ward 7

For over the past year I have been engaged in cleaning up in Ward 7 Washington D.C. I bring volunteers and I recruit local groups to help us clean up in Ward 7 Washington D.C.( video herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2u71ZsXo26k) We also teach chess classes to the youth for free on tues and thurs. The youth members of the chess club have agreed to help us with some of our clean ups in exchange for bieng a part of our chess program which is free.

Anyway to further assist our students here at the library to develop thier chess game we are setting up tables for the public to play chess in at the back of Dorothy Hieght library. There will be a table with 3 chess boards set up for the public and our students will be able to get some seasoning by playing members of the public who can play.

Two boards will be set up for playing on the clock and the other one will be strictly dedicated to natating games. In other words only people who are going to write thier game down can use the last board.

Ward 7 Chess Club youth lessons

What to expect: Our youth (adult) chess lesson clubs are the core of our chess program. We meet twice a week on Tues and Thurs from 5pm-7pm. But of course volunteers can make thier own schedule and we are flexible

Requirements: Must be able to commit to a consistent schedule and pass a background check. Chess knowledge or classroom management experience is always appreciated our basic schedule will be Tuesday and Thurs 5pm-7pm. We would like for the volunteers to help manage our chess table and to help us keep the decorum.

Other responsibliitlies include

Managing the chess table and the chess boards and taking them back up to the front desk every evening after the chess lessons have finished.

Helping us to maintain quiet at the table.

Practicing chess with the students if no one else is availble.

We are going to be using chess as a mentorship device and will be looking forward with great eargerness for the members of our chess club to give back in the form of community service to our community.

I am going be using my tube page create free chess resources to help beginers learn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cIbp7LY6cM
