About INVESTIGATIVE POST INC

Location:

487 MAIN ST STE 300, BUFFALO, NY 14203, US

Mission Statement

Investigative Post (IP) is the only non-profit watchdog news organization in WNY. IP produces independent, non-partisan investigative stories and analysis on issues that matter to the citizens and residents of Buffalo and WNY. Our aim is to expose wrongdoing, explain complex issues and hold people in power accountable.

Description

Investigative Post (IP) reporters apply rigorous reporting standards to their work. Using extensive data, documents and supplement interviews to shoe-leather reporting. IP produces its stories in print, t.v., radio, web, podcasts, web & video blogs.

IP's work can be found at InvestigativePost.org; WGRZ TV; WBFO, Buffalo's NPR news station; The Capital Press Room; The Public, on twitter & on Facebook. These combined outlets provide 265,000 people with daily coverage to IP's stories.

IP's quality of work & size of audience mean our reporting has impact. Consider these IPstoryoutcomes:

BuffaloBillion: US Attorney Preet Bharara filed criminal charge against nine government & business officials in the awarding of contracts in Buffalo & around NY. Leadpoisoning: City Hall & Erie County revised procedures & policies to better target high-risk neighborhoods. ScajaquadaCreek:State & local government agreed to multi-million dollar plans to reduce overflows into the creek. GallagherBeach:Tests revealed high bacterial counts; state withdrew plans for swimming beach.

These stories, and many more, are the stories that would not have been told without the Investigative Post.
