This can be a shared position if you prefer. We are seeking local volunteers, but also may utilize virtual volunteers to support that effort.
Let your creativity loose to go after donations of sports items and packages that would liven up our live and silent auction at our annual fundraiser June 1, 2017. Maybe a Cincinnati Reds weekend with hotel and dinner on the waterfront? How about a golf package with lessons, a caddy, and a massage? Brainstorm. . . set . . . go! For starters, you would contact sports teams, celebrities, and venues to ask for donations. Some will pay off this year, but we are also building relationships and finding out deadlines and procedures for future events.
We are also seeking donations of sports-related collectibles and antiques from the public. After the June 1 event, if you love what you are doing, you may like to continue, or to train someone to take your spot.
Your love and knowledge of sports would be a help, whatever sport(s) you would like to take on: golf, football, soccer, baseball, tennis . . . professional, college, Olympic, etc.
If you have personal contacts, that would be a plus. You can work on your own, or work with a team of other volunteers.
These items help us run the Haven (our homeless men's shelter) and the Gardens (our transitional apartments for individuals and families getting back on their feet).
