Ploughshares Nursery needs help clearing our growing grounds of invasive weeds. Volunteers will use hula hoes and shovels as well as good old fashioned hands to dig out weeds and dispose of them in our composter.
Ploughshares is a non-profit nursery located in Alameda CA. Revenues from the sale of drought tolerant, edible and native plants are used to maintain housing and services for formerely homeless individuals and families living on the old Alameda Naval Base.
This is a great opportunity for a small group to learn a little about a social enterprise nursery while team building and providing needed assistance to our thinly staffed crew!
