Are you an enthusiastic library lover? Are you interested in attending fun events all over the city? Join our the Library Outreach and Community Advocacy Leaders (LOCAL) team !

LOCAL volunteers help out by attending community events, facilitating fun library-related activities, creating outreach opportunities, and advocating on behalf of their neighborhood libraries. Volunteers on this team help with everything from the Children’s Theater Festival to PrideFest to 21+ events and various locations around Pittsburgh.

Volunteers are trained in outreach best practices, attend a monthly meeting, and commit to volunteering for about 5 hours each month. Our next volunteer training is coming up in April 2017.
