The Indiana Parkinson Foundation inaugural Canine Catwalk will be held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Grand Hall on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 7pm to 10pm. This unique evening of elegance (black tie) will feature a doggy fashion show, auction and recognition of the service dog industry. Research has shown that pets are beneficial for people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Dogs can help their owners maintain balance while walking, or alert a family member after a fall. They can also be trained to help people with Parkinson's with movement when experiencing gait freezing.
We are seeking volunteers the evening of the event to assist with setup and tear down, run errands and assist dog owners. There will also be opportunities to help after the event with writing thank you notes, etc.
If you like dogs and volunteering, please contact us today!
