ServiceWorks Volunteers
ORGANIZATION: Youth Policy Institute
Please visit the new page to apply.
OVERVIEW:
ServiceWorks is a volunteer-driven program that works towards teaching Service Scholars, ages 16-24, transferable college and workplace skills that they gain through the planning and implementation of community service projects. A critical component of the program is bringing in community volunteers to help teach these skills to the youth enrolled in the program. Youth will learn leadership, networking, project planning, diversity, professionalism, communication, problem solving and asset mapping. Training in the curriculum and ongoing support are provided to volunteer skill trainers by YPI VISTA members.
YPI ServiceWorks is seeking volunteer skill trainers to facilitate 1-5 workshops from an established ServiceWorks curriculum to youth. Volunteer trainers typically dedicate 1-3 hours for preparation and 1-2 hours in direct facilitation to youth.
YPI ServiceWorks is seeking volunteer mentors to assist youth in their personal and professional goals. Volunteer mentors typically dedicate 1-3 hours to meet with youth to set goals during YPI center hours or events.
