Description

Community for Permanent Supported Housing (CPSH) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2011. Finding Independence by CPSH is our services division with experts who guide people with disabilities and their families/caregivers on a path towards independence with support services. Focused on serving adults with disabilities who need assistance with affordable housing options, steps to independence training, self-advocacy, resources, safety training, and much more. There are over 250,000 people living with cognitive disabilities that makes living independently a challenge in North Texas. We serve people with disabilities and their caregivers, educators, service providers, and more across Texas.

Today’s housing crisis, made worse by COVID-19, highlights the lack of affordable housing for working class families. People with disabilities are being overlooked. Community resources to help a family prepare their adult child to thrive on their own are difficult to identify. Determining how they can survive on disability income (usually maxed at $914 per month) is challenging.

We provide workshops, trainings, consultations and resources on affordable housing, steps to independence and accessing resources for people with disabilities.

We couldn't do what we do without the amazing talents of volunteers.
