Do you enjoy working with children in the outdoors? Our volunteers make a huge difference in what we are able to accomplish each year in the Kentucky Children's Garden. We have daily opportunities including being a greeter or model train conductor and regular teaching opportunities which including field trips, outreach and events.
We invite new and returning volunteers to join us for a Volunteer Training on Saturday, May 6th from 10am-12pm at the Dorotha Smith Oatts Visitor Center. Returning volunteers need only stay for the first hour.
In order to volunteer with the Kentucky Children's Garden you must consent to a background check. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian in order to attend.

Description
Located within The Arboretum, the Kentucky Children’s Garden is a safe 2 acre outdoor learning environment designed to help children 2-10 years old discover plants and the environment.
There's an integrated combination of various "child-scaled" theme gardens and garden-like elements for experiential play. Our most popular features include the wading stream, a model train layout, a pioneer house for dramatic play and raised beds in fun themes.
