Fun for all ages!
Join in removing noxious weeds and restoring native plants.

This spring we continue our work to keep Blakely Wand Weed Warriors share an opportunty to engage your whole family, while learning about stewarding our native forests and watersheds.

Work alongside our staff and leave knowing you're doing a whole lotta good for our visitors, students,...and our ecosystem here on Bainbridge Island.

Work Party Details:

  • IslandWood will provide: staff member support, water cooler to refill water bottles and a limited # of tools.
  • Volunteer should provide: Water bottle to refill, work gloves, hand tools like clippers (if you have them).
  • Volunteers should wear weather- and work-appropriate clothing and footwear (no open toes).
  • Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult; we welcome families.
  • Please meet the IslandWood staff member at the Welcome Center. Please arrive a few minutes early to allow the work party to start on time.

Mission Statement

Bainbridge Weed Warriors are a loose coalition of groups, backyard and professional botanists, gardeners, horticulturalists, and environmental activists battling through action and education to minimize the negative impact of non-native invasive plant species on Bainbridge Island

Description

Volunteers generally work together outside on beautiful Bainbridge Island removing non-native noxious invasive plants such as English ivy, Scotch broom, and poisonous tansy ragwort.
