Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Volunteer caregivers make a difference in the life of homebound seniors through friendly visits.

Are you looking for meaningful activities? Are you a people-person? Do you feel called to help those in need? Consider becoming a volunteer caregiver.

We need caring adults to provide non-medical support to homebound individuals. Volunteers are provided with specialized training and ongoing support offering assistance in our 'Neighbors Helping Neighbors' program. Services may include shopping and errands, transportation to appointments, friendly visits, and telephone reassurance.

Volunteer training (2.5 Hrs) is offered each month with daytime and weekend sessions to accommodate your schedule.

**Presently we are providing training virtually and it generally takes 1.5 hours**

Mission Statement

Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County (ICGMC), an interfaith coalition, is dedicated to promoting the independence, dignity and wellness of homebound elderly and people with disabilities by matching them with caring volunteers who assist with the tasks of everyday life.

Description

Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County was established in 1994 with a "Faith in Action" grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. For over two decades we have worked to improve the quality of life and help meet the concerns and special needs of underserved, homebound elderly and adults with disabilities in Mercer County, New Jersey.

Our interdenominational coalition of 30 congregations and over 400 trained volunteers provide support and education that enables care-receivers to remain in their homes. All services and programs are offered free-of-charge without proselytization and without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation or income.
