Do you have a dog or cat or other pet that you'd love to bring on supportive visits?
You can make a difference in the life of someone 1-2 hours a week!!
We would love to work with you. Skirball Hospice is expanding it's Pet Therapy program
We are looking for pet owners who can make visits with their animal friends to our hospice patients.
As a program of the Los Angeles Jewish Home we care for people in the Greater Los Angeles, San Fernando, Conejo and San Gabriel Valleys and at the Jewish Home Campuses in Reseda and Playa Vista CA.
Pets must be certified through an approved agency. Volunteers are trained in the philosophy and approach to Compassionate Hospice Care. Assignments of pets with their owners are made according to your schedule and geographical preferences. On-going support and education is provided!
Our volunteers must be tested monthly for COVID-19, and wear a surgical mask (provided) during visits.
