Join us and volunteer at our annual Take Steps for Crohn's & Colitis walk in Atlanta, being held Sunday, May 21st at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody.
Each year the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, Georgia Chapter hosts its annual Take Steps walk in Atlanta to raise funds to find cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and celebrate our walkers' hard work fundraising and bringing more awareness of these diseases.
Walkers are able to connect with patients, families, healthcare providers, and organizations while fundraising for cures - and we have a great time doing that!
We have a variety of 'stations' where YOUR help as a volunteer could be utilized:
- Registration/Check-in,
- Catering,
- Incentives (t-shirts and other prizes for walkers),
- Kids' Corral,
- Set up or Clean up
Let us know what hours you are available between 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and we can assign you a station.
We hope to see you there at the walk on Sunday, May 21st at Brook Run Park!

Mission Statement
To cure and prevent Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support. CCFA sponsors basic and clinical research of the highest quality. The Foundation also offers a wide range of educational programs for patients and health-care professionals, and provides supportive services to help people cope with these chronic intestinal diseases. These programs are supported solely by contributions from the public.
Description
The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. CCFA was founded in 1967 by Irwin M. and Suzanne Rosenthal, William D. and Shelby Modell, and Henry D. Janowitz, M.D.
Five decades ago, the Foundation created the field of IBD research. Today, the Foundation funds cutting-edge studies at major medical institutions, nurtures investigators at the early stages of their careers, and finances underdeveloped areas of research. Educational workshops and symposia, together with our scientific journal, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, enable medical professionals to keep pace with this rapidly growing field. No wonder the National Institutes of Health has commended the Foundation for "uniting the research community and strengthening IBD research."
