Reading Buddies
Grab a book and read with a buddy.

Patient, technology savvy volunteers needed. Join the team at our Northern Lights branch and help our customers learn about basics office tools. Our customers need someone to share knowledge of printing simple projects, faxing documents, using simple Word and Excel features and completing basic online forms.

If you enjoy a busy environment, appreciate the cultural complexities of working with people from many backgrounds and delight in sharing technological expertise this is the assignment for you.

Pick your shift: Monday through Friday, 4 to 6:15 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Weekend hours are also available.

Description

Open to All since 1873, Columbus Metropolitan Library is well known for its signature services and programs like School Help, Reading Buddies, Summer Reading Challenge and Ready for Kindergarten. With its Main Library and 22 branches, CML responds to areas of urgent community need: kids unprepared for kindergarten, third grade reading proficiency, high school graduation, college and career readiness and employment resources.

CML was named a 2011 National Medal Winner by the Institute for Museum and Library Services for work in community service, the highest honor for libraries and museums. CML was also named 2010 Library of the Year by Library Journal.
