If you live in the city of Chicago, you have likely walked past the modern-day tumbleweed (plastic bags) fluttering around in the ever-changing winds. The city is littered with litter! This trash is becoming more dangerous and spreading disease/toxins throughout. Oceans Blue Corp is working to reduce the amount of debris along the streets by performing cleanups on vacant city lots. People use these lots as their personal dumpsters. The trash piles up and overflows into the environment, your environment.

If helping monitor the amount of debris and removing what is piling up in these lots is something that peaks your interest, this is the opportunity for you. Oceans Blue Corp regularly conducts cleanups on vacant lots in the city. We monitor the amounts and types of debris before removing it in an attempt to help the city find sources and ways to prevent further accumulation. Cleanups are performed multiple times a month and are open to all. If you are interested, message for details on attire, times, and locations.

This particular clean up will be held on June 24th, 2018. The location is Montrose Beach and the time is 10am-12pm. This is a special clean up as we are working with Miss Planet Earth USA/ Miss Teen Illinois in preparation for her upcoming Pageants.

Mission Statement

Oceans Blue Corp is dedicated to keeping the oceans blue by reducing the amount of marine debris entering waterways through education and prevention!

Description

Oceans Blue Corp is working hard on a Clean it Up campaign. During this campaign, we will be doing clean ups in state and national parks on a monthly basis. Collecting, removing, and recording marine debris. The data collected will be a vital resource for researchers trying to exterminate marine debris. During this campaign, we will also be interacting with beach goers directly by handing out informational brochures and reuseable bags. We are hoping to educate the nation of the harmful effects of marine debris and ways to prevent it.
