Become a Friendly Neighbor to older and challenged adults living in Central Indiana! Vista Volunteers in the past have made visits to nursing and senior homes, as well as private residences to play games, read, run a quick errand or just say hello!
Specific tasks will be determined between the volunteer and the direct supervisor. Families First hopes that Vista Volunteers can make visits weekly or bi-weekly. This position is flexible and the need is ongoing!
Families First’s Vistas program is prepared to meet the community’s growing need for caregiving support services. Our team of professional counselors and homemakers provide compassionate, supportive care to protect the well-being of vulnerable adults, enabling them to achieve the highest degree of independence and quality of life possible.
Vistas services are available to:
- Adults 18 years and older who live in Marion County and need in-home counseling, case management, and homemaker support
- People at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation or premature institutional placement
- Adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, chronic mental illness, and cognitive challenges
