Volunteers staff the surgical reception area to greet patients arriving for surgery and the families there to support them. Duties include acting as communication liaison between the surgeon/surgical staff and the families.
Volunteers offer emotional support and conversation when desired and provide directions to families to access amenities such as cafeteria, vending, chapel, etc. Volunteers also operate a courtesy coffee station for the families.
Volunteer shifts are available 6-9 a.m., 8;30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. and 12:30-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. *Currently a mask is required. Courtesy lunch ticket provided.
