Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: CASA of Bradley and Polk Counties

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 1 person is interested

This 5 week training progam starts on Friday June 2nd, and ends on Friday, June 30th. This is our first time trying out a daytime training program, and we are hoping it will work out perfectly for people who have the summers off from work or for people who work at night.

This 5 week training program will supply you with all the skills necessary to become a child advocate and to stand up for potentially abused and neglected children in the court room.

If you are interested in learning more please check out our website at www.casabp.org.

About CASA of Bradley and Polk Counties

Location:

85 South Ocoee St, Cleveland, TN 37311, US

Mission Statement

To make sure the voices of abused and neglected children are heard in court.

Description

Volunteer advocates fill a vital role. Here's how it works:

  • CASA is appointed to a case by a local judge.
  • Appointment usually takes place when a petition is brought before the judge, in cases of reported child abuse or neglect.
  • CASA takes the information of both parties and launches an unbiased investigation using volunteer and staff advocates.
  • The detailed report provides the judge with an accurate depiction of circumstances.
  • Volunteer and staff advocates make recommendations in the report which are fact based, and seek to promote the most positive outcome for the child.
  • When the proceedings conclude, CASA continues to monitor the case to make sure all court orders are upheld, and the safety of the child continues to be priority.
