The Adult Education program provides free Citizenship instruction to the local immigrant and refugee community. Each class is 10 weeks long and provides all of the instruction and practice an eligible student needs in order to submit the n-400 application and prepare for the interview.

The class sizes are large and multi-level. Volutneers would be responsible for assisting the instructor with small group activities such as mock interviews or assisting new students transitioning into the class. APDC provides training to classroom volunteers and the instructor will prepare the lesson for each class and inform the volunteer concerning how they can assist during that class. We request that volunteers be flexible as the needs of the class/students/instructor may vary.

Classes are held Thursday and Friday from 10:00 am-12:00 pm and Thursday and Friday from 6:00-8:00 pm. We ask that volunteers be available during an entire 2 hour class time at least once a week for 10 weeks. Likewise, we ask all volunteers to attend orientation/training and agree to a background check.
