Job Summary: To expand and improve the community building events offered by A Woman’s Place by helping staff organize, fund and launch an Easter party for clients of A Woman’s Place.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Work with staff to develop themes and ideas for the Easter party
- Take the lead on finding and getting in-kind donations whether like food, decorations and entertainment.
- Help set up event
- Help to host event
*Please Note: This position requires you can have and use your personal laptop while on site - unfortunately our program doesn’t have a computer that’s reliably not used.
Desired Experience:
The most important thing our volunteers contribute is their reliable time commitment. If you have volunteered reliably in the past we would love to hear about it.
- This is the ideal position for someone with a strong interest in non-profit development, relationship development, donor engagement or event coordination to get some hands on, results driven experience.
- The most successful event coordinator will be someone comfortable with representing AWP and CATS to local business and asking for donations.
- Strong writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
A Woman's Place is the only gender-specific emergency shelter and transitional housing of its kind in San Francisco. We provide a safe haven for homeless women and victims of crimes.
A Woman's Place is a program of Community Awareness and Treatment Services, inc. (CATS). We operate a network of homeless services providers that work together to end the cycle of homelessness

OUR ORGANIZATIONAL VISION
We envision a San Francisco where everyone who has lost the ability to care for themselves is given the support they need to gain control of their own lives. There will be no homeless on the street, those with illness and addiction will be cared for, and everyone will be supported along a path toward permanent housing and self-sufficiency.
