A Woman’s Place (AWP) Drop-in is the only women and family specific emergency shelter of its kind in San Francisco. When women have nowhere else to go they come to AWP drop-in center. There they have a safe place to sit with their families, mental health professionals and social workers on site.

A Woman's Place Drop-In is a program of Community Awareness and Treatment Services, inc. (CATS). We operate a network of homeless services providers that work together to end the cycle of homelessness.

Job Summary: Work directly with the Program Coordinator for A Woman’s Place Drop-In to help her maintain an organized and efficient program.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the admin assistant will be to update and maintain a resource bulletin for our clients. Crafting and creativity encouraged!

The Program Coordinator will also request help with a number of administrative tasks like

  • Entering demographic data our front-desk staff collects from clients.
  • Helping to maintain organized files.

*Please Note: This position requires you can have and use your personal laptop while on site - unfortunately our program doesn’t have a computer that’s reliably not used.

Desired Experience:

This is perfect for someone who is both creative and highly organized. The volunteer for this position needs to understand how important organization is for our programs to function smoothly.

  • Computer literate
  • Familiarity with Google Drive/Docs
  • Basic math skills (the ability to add and subtract, or use a calculator)

The drop-in center works directly with people currently experiencing homelessness. You need to be comfortable in unpredictable, occasionally loud environments.
