Hands-on Science Education!
A FUN volunteer provides a hands-on environmental science session with Seattle Public School students.

Seattle Audubon's FUN program introduces third and fourth grade Seattle Public School students to the natural world found in their schoolyards. FUN volunteers lead a group of 4-6 students through four hands-on lessons in the fall and four more in the spring. No previous experience is necessary. Participating schools are in multiple neighborhoods; we will help match you with a school and a schedule.

Required training dates offered are March 28, March 31, or April 3; new volunteers must attend one of those sessions or arrange for a make-up training.

Seattle Audubon provides training, support, and all materials throughout the program. Volunteers will work in tandem with Seattle Audubon education staff and classroom teachers.

Mission Statement

Seattle Audubon leads a local community in appreciating, understanding, and protecting birds and their natural habitats. We envision a healthy environment in balance with nature, where people enjoy, respect, and care for the natural resources that sustain the community of life.

Description

Founded in 1916, Seattle Audubon is Washington's oldest natural history organization, and one of the state's most active. Much of our success is due to the strong environmental spirit of Seattle-area residents and to the hundreds of volunteers who annually contribute thousands of hours toward the mission and the activities of Seattle Audubon.
Our primary programs are Education, Conservation, Science, Community Engagement, and The Nature Shop.
