ORGANIZATION: WGBH

  • 1 person is interested

This year’s month-long event will begin online at auction.wgbh.org on May 1. Online bidders will have the chance to browse and bid on hundreds of items until the evening hours of Wednesday, May 31.

In preparation for the auction, we need capable volunteers to assist with the auction acquisition process - helping to connect WGBH with current and potential community business partners to acquire valuable auction donations for our live day and bidding online.

Responsibilities: Make calls and connect with current and potential donors to ask for an auction donation. Cultivate the relationship and send proposals and donation forms via fax or email. Make additional follow-up calls as needed to ensure donations are received. Help steward donor relationships with thank you calls and/or emails.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate is passionate about WGBH and familiar with the Foundation’s mission; self-motivated; outgoing; possess good communication skills; persuasive; deadline-driven; able to work in a fast-paced environment; able to navigate Internet; and comfortable using the telephone as a primary cultivation tool. Volunteers should also be comfortable sending emails and using a fax machine.

Training: A Member Engagement staff member will train and review goals with each volunteer. Once training is complete, auction volunteers should be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
