Sharing your pet with hospice patients in York

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Compassionate Care Hospice

  • 3 people are interested

Do you have a favorite pet you would like to share with a terminally ill patient? Compassionate Care Hospice has opportunities in York to accompany your pet to facilities to share the joy with others. Pet therapy is such a vital part of our program. It has been shown to provide mental stimulation, lower anxiety, it offers a positive distraction and can even lower blood pressure.

Each pet must be certified by a pet therapy group. We train you to work with the patients while you take your pet to offer companionship and emotional support to those in need.

We do background checks and require 2 step PPD to test for Tuberculous.

Come join our community of volunteers to give, to those in our hospice care.
