Description
YES Mentoring Program is a mentoring program for students in middle school ages 11-15. Youth will be able to enter the program at the end of 5th grade to assist with their transition into middle school. The goal of the program is to foster a commitment to youth that will provide a support system that will allow the youth to be confident, responsible, self-motivated, and academically successful. At-risk students tend to lack the necessary tools to be successful in school or in making positive choices. The mentoring program will focus primarily in helping them develop the traits and habits to foster success. The youth will receive opportunities to participate in real life activities quarterly.
