Mentors are paired with students in grades kindergarten through 8. The objective is to be a consistent, caring adult in the life of the child for an hour each week. As this is a school-based program, mentor/mentee pairs typically meet at lunchtime and eat, play games and work on schoolwork or projects. Background checks are done for new mentors, and there is a 2 hour training session to help them get started.
