Touch A Truck and More Festival is an opportunity to share your vehicle with kids of all ages, and in doing so, help us raise much needed awareness and funds for families in need of necessities.

About

Touch A Truck & More will take place during the Atlanta Back 2 School Food Festival on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 12:00pm to 5:30pm at the Mable House Amphitheatre in Mableton, Ga.

There will be a parade, food trucks, vendors, stuff the truck, fun zone, and a kids dance & choir competition.

The goal of the festival is to provide kids an opportunity to kick off the 2017 -2018 school year optimistic, encouraged, and inspired.

Volunteer Duties and Description:

  • Planning Committee: help plan the Back to School event; provide input on logistics and execution of the event.
  • Backpack Giveaway:- Setup the room for the giveaway, manage the breakfast area, greet clients, check in registered clients to receive backpacks, pass out backpacks and other items.
  • Stuff the Truck: volunteers will help collect school supplies, new school clothes and toilietries from companies and festival attenders. The items will be placed in the truck that is being used as the "Stuff the Truck".
  • Beverage Distribution - distributes beverages and ice to sales booths; lifting required

  • Beverage Sales - sell soft drinks and water to patrons

  • Festival Production - help out with general Festival set up, break down, and operational activities; logistical activities; post Festival cleanup activities

  • Fun Zone - assigned to one of the bouncy houses, rock climbing walls, concession stand or within the fun zone area; assist with the running of hands on arts activities for both children and adults;

  • Information Booth - answer questions about the Festival's activities, schedules and participants; provide directions; hand out brochures

  • VIP Tent - greet and sign in guests; serve beverages; keep area clean

  • Volunteer Booth - help check-in new shifts of volunteers and answer general questions; pass out t-shirts.

  • Stage and Artist Assistance: - help check-in artist, maintain performance schedule, and answer general questions from the Artist.

  • Vendor Set Up & Breakdown: - direct vendors to booth assignments; work at the gate to ensure only vendors enter; answer any questions the vendors may have.

  • Back 2 School Parade: check in parade participatants; line up participants; set up traffic cones

  • Photographer: takes pictures of the parade, touch a truck zone, vendors, kids choir and dance competition, and the stuff the truck area.

  • Videographer: video areas of the parade, touch a truck zone, vendors, kids choir and dance competition, and the stuff the truck.

  • Social Media: post and tweet about the festival.

The festival is a family-friendly community event that offers children of all ages a hands-on opportunity to explore a variety of machinery and to meet the people who build, protect and serve our community.
