What we need: An experienced and reliable newsletter writer/editor to help us better communicate with our adopters, donors, volunteers, and fosters.
Qualifications/Requirements: Writing and publishing experience, a track record of communicating and coordinating well with others, and some creativity to help us stand out.
What DC PAWS provides : We will provide you with the background information necessary about our rescue and our events and activities.
How does the process work: You’re the expert so we defer to you, but will be at your disposal to help craft our messaging and tell our story. We are also looking for social media, PR, and general marketing leaders and you should expect to coordinate with these individuals (and if you can wear another hat, please let us know!). You may build a team under you as needed.
How we are different than other rescues: We are committed to 100% positive reinforcement and have a supportive training and enrichment program for our volunteers.
Why you should serve as a newsletter writer/editor for us: We are a small and relatively new rescue, and could use all the support we can get! Up until now, we have not done a great job of communicating with our base, and instituting regular newsletters for our various audiences is critical to our growth and building a better sense of community.
To explore this opportunity further, please complete a volunteer questionnaire and indicate you are interested in serving as our Newsletter Writer/Editor.
About DC PAWS Rescue
DC PAWS Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based 501c3 rescue that saves stray, neglected, unwanted and abused animals from rural animal control facilities and places them in safe and loving foster and adoptive homes in the Washington, DC area.
We believe there is more to rescue than placing shelter animals into forever homes. We believe that rescue should support the people who support the rescue, and support the needs of the dogs and cats on their journey to a forever home.
