Walzem Y Achievers Urban Community Garden - Building the Beds!

Our teen group, the Y Achievers, were recently awarded a grant by the Silver & Black Give Back Foundation to establish a Urban Community Garden to serve three purposes: 1) teach the community how to access healthy, organic produce, 2) create inter-generational relationships between our teens and seniors and 3) create a learning garden to feature STEM and agricultural engineering options for urban communities. Our dream is becoming a reality! We are in need of 30-50 volunteers to help us build the planting beds. We will be using basic and advanced carpentry skills. No experience is necessary to assist. Our teens are providing lunch for our volunteers after the work as well, so we appreciate your RSVP so that we can make sure we have enough for all.
